In the past week or so, since i last posted about this painting, i’ve done quite a bit of touching up and repainting some areas. I repainted the sky with a thicker layer of paint and with shapes that hopefully represent clouds with more accuracy than previously. The mountains also got another paint layer, as did the grassy hilly areas. The house itself needed some cleaning up of angles and lines. It’s not perfect, but it is better. The final challenge was adding mist to the mountain and hilly areas. I tried a couple of different techniques. Nothing worked in quite the way i’d imagined, but i think it’s close enough for now.

This is one of your best so far. I love the porch railing on the back of the house, and all the rocky parts around it. The road is definitely to be avoided in bare feet. The clouds are really really beautiful, which is not easy. Altogether a job well done. Consider yourself hugged! m

Congrats on a great finish! You tackled a lot of elements in this piece – it’s really quite complex. I like the depth created by the distant peaks, too.
